Job Title: Plasma Operator

Job Description

CNC Machine Operators play a key role in the success of the Company. They must follow company policies and work in harmony with co-workers and management to ensure the Company’s success. They perform the day-to-day activities required of them in the shop with the goal of meeting the production schedule set forth by the Shop Foreman, all while maintaining a safe working environment and staying within quality standards.

Hard Skills

  • Studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters

  • Interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances

  • Programming mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches

  • Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry

  • Proving part programs

  • Observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing

  • Taking measurements and detecting malfunctions

  • Troubleshooting processes and adjusting/reprogramming controls

  • Sharpening and replacing worn tools

  • Adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes

Soft Skills

  • Working in harmony with co-workers and management

  • Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Syracuse, New York.

Work Environment

The work environment involves performing day-to-day activities in the shop with the goal of meeting the production schedule set forth by the Shop Foreman, all while maintaining a safe working environment and staying within quality standards.
