Consumer Loan Processor

The Consumer Loan Processor position is responsible for performing a variety of loan processing, administrative and clerical functions relating specifically to Consumer Lending including quality control and verification of loan documentation, merging data from processing systems, loan documentation preparation, coordinating loan closings and various reporting functions. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, be highly organized, exhibiting excellent verbal and written communication skills. Relevant work experience of one to three years is highly preferred.

This is an onsite position located at our Corporate Office located in Solvay, NY.

Position Title: Reports To:

Consumer Loan Processor Loan Administration Manager

Position summary:

Performs a variety of loan processing, administrative and clerical functions related specifically to direct and indirect consumer lending. Performs pre-closing quality control review on loan packages. Merges loan data from DecisionPro to LaserPro for direct loans and merges data from DecisionPro to Navigator for indirect loans., Coordinates loan closings with branches. Assembles and verifies loan documents using Laser Pro and ITI. Processes credit card applications once approved. Prepares and maintains various reports.

Tasks:

  • Provides assistance to the Direct & Indirect Lending Team, including updating loan data, assembling of documentation for indirect consumer loans, prepares loan documentation for direct consumer loans and maintains various reports.

  • Ensures that loan files contain documents with proper signature, dates and other required information. Verifies loan file for accuracy and completeness.

  • Maintains existing and new customer files; reviews closed loan documents for proper terms, conditions and signatures; uploads executed documents to Director.

  • Ensures bank’s liens are properly recorded on vehicle titles.

  • Responds timely to customer and branch personnel inquiries concerning loan processing and information via phone, email and in person. Contributes to a strong teamwork atmosphere when conducting internal business regarding customer accounts.

  • Adheres to bank and department policies and procedures, completes all required training.

  • Processes direct consumer credit card applications upon approval.

  • Provides back-up support for other Loan Administration team members as availability permits.

    Experience and Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • 1-3 years banking or related experience preferred

    • Some consumer lending experience preferred but not required

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, proficiency in Excel reporting

    • Good understanding and interest in the Bank’s products and services offered

    • Strong analytical skills
