We are hiring a low-voltage Alarm Installation Technician in our Syracuse, NY branch. We will consider both experienced and trainee applicants. This is an opportunity for someone with a mechanical aptitude and a great attitude to become part of a great company.

Job Summary:

The Alarm Installation Technician primarily will be engaged in the installation and completion of security, fire, access, and camera systems.

Essential Job Functions:

The Security & Fire Alarm Systems Technician will:

  • Install and service electronic security and fire systems.

  • Test installed system following established protocols.

  • Ensure system functions properly.

  • Instruct customers on use of system. Answer customer questions.

  • Prepare documentation for proper monitoring and billing.

  • Offer enhanced services to customers.

  • Provide assistance for other customer issues.

  • Collect payment from customer.

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

    The Security & Fire Alarm Systems Technician should have:

  • Ability to drive a company vehicle.

  • Ability to work in diverse settings.

  • Excellent understanding of electronic security systems.

  • Compliance with all safety requirements.

    Qualities and Characteristics:

    The Security & Fire Alarm Systems Technician should have:

  • Uncompromising integrity and ethical standards.

    Position Prerequisites:

    The Security & Fire Alarm Systems Technician should have:

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

  • High school or equivalent degree (preferred)

  • Some flexibility regarding schedule and travel (Syracuse region) – some nights and weekends may be included.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Mechanical hands-on ability/experience working with hand and power tools a plus.

  • OSHA 10 certification a plus

  • NICET certification a plus

    Salary: $20-$25 per hour based on experience
