Senior Credit Analyst

The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst works closely with the commercial lending officers and staff, supporting their efforts in facilitating and processing commercial loan requests for discussion by the Bank’s various committees and Senior Management. A Master’s Degree in Business or Accounting or six to eight years’ experience in a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. This is primarily an onsite position located at our corporate office in Solvay, NY.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Credit Department Manager, the Sr. Commercial Credit Analyst works closely with the commercial lending officers and staff, supporting their efforts in facilitating and processing commercial loan requests for discussion by the Bank’s various committees and Senior Management. Responsible for supporting other general and administrative departmental needs as required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Analyze corporate financial statements and tax returns; personal financial statements and tax returns; financial statement spreadsheets; and other financial information in addition to preparing financial projections for new loan requests, renewals, and credit reviews.

· Analyzes borrowers’ financial condition relative to performance, repayment ability, trends, industry, collateral and cash flow. Will occasionally meet with borrowers, as needed, during the course of an evaluation of a loan request or relationship review.

· Prepares detailed loan presentations containing a heightened level of independent analysis on more complex transactions including C&I and commercial real estate loan requests, makes recommendations on structure as well as credit worthiness regarding new loan requests and credit reviews.

· Provides additional analytical assistance to loan officers as requested.

· Supports the Bank’s credit investigation function, including credit reports and trade reports and researches and provides 3rd party credit references for the Bank’s commercial customers.

· Assists in carrying out Departmental projects, initiatives, goals and objectives.

· Assists in data accumulation and tracking of financial statements and other information to aide Departmental reporting requirements.

· Adheres to bank policies and procedures, legal and compliance regulations and performs other duties as required.

Experience and Education:

· Master's degree in Business or Accounting (MBA) from a university graduate school of business; or six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Proficient working knowledge of PCs and spreadsheet, word processing and other financial

software applications.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills
