SUNY Upstate Medical University Staff Assistant 2 - Radiology in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary:
Will perform a variety of clerical duties (answering phones, faxes, incoming mail) in support of the Radiology Departments (CT, MRI, US, DX) located at the Nappi Wellness Institute. Responsible for greeting patients upon their arrival for Radiology exams and ensures required paperwork for appointment is completed by patient prior to dispersal to appropriate staff. Incumbent will have a high responsibility of being HIPAA Compliant, screening image library requests, complete of Release of Information (ROI) requests electronically and log all ROI of medical Imaging information required by HIPAA. Preparing Medical imaging for Health Information Exchange. Provide support and assistance to all modalities of Upstate Hospital for patients image needs. Will act as a liaison for Radiology technologist, attendings/residents and nurses.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant experience preferably in a health care setting; or, equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities, have excellent communication and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work independently, medical terminology, knowledge of hospital information systems (EPIC/PACS) and Microsoft Office preferred.
Work Days:
40 hrs./Week Monday-Friday; Specific hours to be determined. May be required to work overtime based on departmental needs.
