Syracuse Arts Academy Tech Support in SYRACUSE, Utah

A well-established charter school located in Syracuse, Utah, is now accepting applications for an Information Technology Support Specialist starting immediately.

Purpose Statement The job of Technology Support Specialist was established for the purpose of serving as a technical resource to the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software on workstations; responding to problems; and training staff on the basic use of networked workstations and software.

Essential Functions • Attends meetings as assigned (e.g. conferences, in-services, workshops, training, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to maintain current knowledge of technological advances and industry trends.

• Coordinates with other staff for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.

• Installs software applications and various peripheral equipment on computers for the purpose of upgrading and improving efficiency of the District's computers and/or ensuring that configurations meet School standards.

• Maintains files and/or records (e.g. installation/service records, parts and supplies lists, inventories, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring an up-to-date reference trail.

• Performs routine maintenance (e.g. computer cleaning, backups, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining computer equipment in a safe and functional operating condition.

• Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving hardware/software related issues and/or providing direction.

• Supports Syracuse Arts Academy technology standards (e.g. hardware implementations, policies, procedures, operational methods, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that the School's technology objectives are achieved.

• Trains personnel in use of computer network and software applications for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing technology.

• Transports a variety of items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at sites or transporting equipment for repair.

• Troubleshoots hardware and software problems on workstations for the purpose of meeting the School's technology needs. Other Functions • Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Must be able to adhere to safety practices; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and utilizing computer hardware and/or software. Must have knowledge of microcomputers and network operating systems; hardware/software configurations; network cabling; technical terminology; Windows operating systems; and basic industry standard networking principles and related equipment. Must be able to communicate with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working with detailed information/data; troubleshooting hardware/software; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others; and interpersonal skills.

Candidate must also submit for and pass a background check in accordance with Utah's Department of Public Safety requirements.
