Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly efficient Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer to join our team. This is a contract position with the potential of becoming permanent. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both tax preparation and basic bookkeeping. They will be responsible for preparing a high volume of tax returns, specifically individual and S corporation business returns. They will also handle bookkeeping tasks, including managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, along with bank reconciliations and posting of journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file a significant number of individual and business tax returns.

• Perform bookkeeping duties which includes recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Conduct thorough and detailed bank reconciliations.

• Post and manage journal entries to ensure accuracy of financial records.

• Execute data analysis and interpretation to aid in financial decision-making processes.

• Utilize forensic accounting techniques to uncover discrepancies and inaccuracies in financial data.

• Participate in a team-oriented business environment, collaborating with colleagues to reach shared goals and ensure compliance with all tax laws.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred.

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper/tax preparer.

• Extensive knowledge of tax regulations and requirements.

• Proficient in accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

• Experience in forensic accounting is a plus.

• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
