Working Title: Hotline IT Supervisor
This position is located in Tallahassee in the Office of Information Technology Services adjunct for Hotline Support.
This is an anticipated vacancy.
This position incumbent is highly responsible and will work outside normal shift/business hours.

Two (2) or more years of experience leading an IT support team and fostering teamwork
Two (2) or more years of experience in IT Project Management and strong ability to prioritize
Experience working within Budget and Procurement rules and procedures
Two (2) or more years of experience in IT support for a large organization
Able to obtain and maintain a CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems) level 4 certification
OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION :
Willing and able to work outside normal shift/business hours.
PREFERENCES : A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences or management information systems.
Current or previous IT Supervisor for State of FL Government Agency
Experience working at DCF, or other State of Florida Governmental agency
Experience Managing Asset Inventory
Experience in QA/QI, Six Sigma, TQM, CQI
Project Management and Delivery Experience
Experience Managing a Data Center Environment
Experience in Managing Mobile Device Fleet
Experience in customer call documentation and reporting
Valid Driver's License Possess operational private vehicle for use in the performance of daily work activities.
DESCRIPTION : Professional position managing technical staff responsible for supporting and deploying software and hardware equipment required by end users. The employee must maintain productivity under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with other program managers and staff. Employee must have the motivational and leadership skills to build outcome-oriented teams. Employee must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to work within agency defined parameters.
EXAMPLES OF WORK : This position spends the majority of its time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees work, and who has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such actions.
Ensures personal computing devices are maintained with up to date software and compliant with security protocols, in order to successfully complete daily work.
Responsible for improving overall quality of service by promoting the most efficient processes to achieve production operating objectives while reducing costs of service.
Report operational achievements and progress to the Senior IT Management including statistical analysis and action plans as required.
Ensures continuous improvement, in terms of efficiency of support processes, customer satisfaction, and the application of tools for monitoring, management, and optimization.
Analyzes, reviews and to identifies the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems and recommends changes.
Determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations and the environment will affect the outcomes.
Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Monitors I.T. expenditures and considers the relative costs and benefits of potential use and recommends the most efficient service.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES, including utilization of equipment, required for the position : Knowledge of latest Windows Operating System for server and desktop users. Knowledge of complex problem-solving techniques. Knowledge of IT network infrastructure including wired and wireless. Skill in use of computers and Microsoft office applications. Ability to manage projects and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Ability to plan capital expenditures and complex purchases. Ability to process information logically and solve problems. Ability to supervise and mentor staff for peak performance. Ability to plan, organize and complete regional assignments independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely through oral and written communication to employees, members of the public and other customers. Ability to write executive level reports. Ability to motivate a team of IT Support Supervisors and Analysts through performance coaching, career planning, and setting performance objectives.
