CORRECTONAL PROGRAM CONSULTANT – 70047570

This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Office of Programs and Re-Entry.

Salary: $61,800.18

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This employee will be responsible for serving as a liaison between the Florida Department of Corrections and the Direct Support Organization (DSO) by facilitating regular communication, sharing progress updates, and reporting on program outcomes and challenges. General areas of responsibility include:

  • Works to forge and maintain a strong partnership between the Department of Corrections and the DSO, coordinating efforts to support successful reentry and workforce training initiatives.

  • Facilitates collaboration and information-sharing across different divisions of the Department to ensure that relevant stakeholders are kept informed and engaged in supporting reentry efforts.

  • Solicits input and guidance from the Department leadership on strategic priorities, goals, and resource allocation decisions related to reentry programs and workforce training, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of communication strategies and status reporting mechanisms, seeking feedback from Department leadership and making adjustments as needed to improved clarity, relevance, and engagement.

  • Maintains transparency in communication by providing accurate and timely updates on the progress of reentry programs and workforce training initiatives, including any challenges or setbacks encountered along the way.

  • Establishes communication channels within the Department to ensure relevant stakeholders are included and informed about the efforts and progress of reentry programs and workforce training initiatives.

  • Communicates the Department’s priorities, goals, and expectations to the DSO, ensuring alignment with the Department’s efforts.

  • Offers guidance and strategic direction to the DSO on how their efforts can best support the Department’s objectives, leveraging their expertise and resources effectively.

  • Monitors the progress and outcomes of the DSO’s initiatives, offering feedback and guidance as needed to ensure alignment with Department goals and objectives.
