SCRAM Systems Intern: New Markets and Products Exploration  in Tallahassee, Florida

Job Summary:

SCRAM Systems is a leader in innovative technology solutions for alcohol monitoring and public safety. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Strategic Business MBA intern to join our Product team. In this role, you will play a critical part in exploring new market opportunities and building business cases for potential product expansions. You will conduct high-level and detailed market analyses to identify lucrative opportunities and inform strategic decision-making. This internship provides the chance to impact SCRAM's future growth while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

High-Level Market Analysis

  • Conduct Total Addressable Market (TAM), Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM), and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) analysis for several potential new markets.

  • Evaluate industry size, growth trends, and competitive landscapes.

Mid-Level Market Research

  • Analyze market trends and dynamics to identify key business drivers and barriers to entry.

  • Assess regulatory environments, level of market saturation, and unmet customer needs.

  • Research the competitive landscape to understand strengths, weaknesses, and white space opportunities.

Low-Level Market Exploration

  • Identify specific, high-potential opportunities for SCRAM’s current and future products.

  • Conduct SWOT analysis to align SCRAM’s capabilities with market needs.

  • Contribute to detailed business cases that include:

  • Revenue projections.

  • Cost estimates.

  • Risk assessments.

  • ROI analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the product team to align findings with SCRAM’s strategic goals.

  • Present actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of foundational market research methodologies and frameworks (e.g., TAM/SAM/SOM, SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces). Knowledge of more modern market research methodologies is a bonus: Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD), Product-Market Fit (PMF), Lean Market Research, Blue Ocean Strategy, Data Driven and AI-Enhanced Research, Ecosystem Mapping, Disruptive Innovation Theory, Growth Hacking Frameworks.

  • Analytical mindset with experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to present complex insights in a clear, compelling way.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in an ambiguous environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Current MBA student at a top-tier program, with a focus on Strategic Management, Market Strategy, Product Management, or Business Analytics.

  • Professional experience in consulting, market research, product management, or strategic marketing is a bonus.
