Our Organization:
The Justice Administrative Commission (JAC) serves Florida’s State Attorneys, Public Defenders, Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsels, Capital Collateral Regional Counsels, and the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office. JAC assists these offices with the State’s accounting, budget, financial services, and human resources platforms. JAC also processes bills from private court-appointed attorneys and associated due process services vendors (e.g., court reporters, interpreters, investigators, and expert witnesses) representing indigent individuals throughout Florida. The Work You Will Do:
The Executive Director seeks to fill the position of the Director of Project Management. This position will apply Project Management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to manage projects for the Justice Administrative Commission. The Director will:
Initiate projects by working with the Sponsor to identify stakeholders, create a project charter, and define the scope of the project.
Manage the Project Management lifecycle from beginning to end and communicate frequently with stakeholders and project teams to ensure stakeholder and project team buy-in and progress.
Manage the relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Create Project Management plans as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to assist in defining the project and track progress. Maintain comprehensive documentation.
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
Manage budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques. Develop and maintain spreadsheets, diagrams, and charts to be able to communicate progress to stakeholders.
Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
Work with Functional Managers and the Sponsor to coordinate internal resources and ensure they are available when needed.
Establish and maintain JAC’s project management standards, standard operating procedures, and templates.
Curate JAC’s project management central repository.
Assist in procuring outside vendors. Meet with vendors to assess their progress and clarify specific requirements of each project.
Use and continually develop leadership skills.
Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
Knowledge of Chapter 60.GG, Florida Administrative Code.
Skilled in using project management templates provided by the Florida Digital Service.
Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with organizational goals and objectives.
Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.
Ability to maintain and improve personal and team effectiveness, and foster change and creativity.
Ability to meet project deadlines.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Ability to review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, completeness, and constructability.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation.
Ability to utilize conflict resolution skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of six years of experience with project management.
Education:
A bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, business management, or a related field.
Relevant project management-related experience.
A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

Pay and Benefits:
For a full-time appointment, the salary range is $80,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Your benefits are a significant part of your compensation. The total compensation package for a full-time position could be anywhere from $111,000 to $149,000 annually and includes your salary, insurance, retirement, paid leave, and holidays. While this is an on-site position in Tallahassee, JAC employees enjoy a hybrid work environment allowing a partially remote work schedule after a minimum of six months working from the office and after successful completion of all relevant training. Continued remote work authorization thereafter is subject to the workload and needs of the office.
