SPECIAL NOTES:

High School diploma or its equivalent is required.

Preferences :

  • Experience working with accounting records and data.

  • Experience with data cleansing, conversion, and/or migration.

  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing related to developing scenarios with pass/fail criteria, developing scripts, executing testing, and documenting results.

  • Experience with data reconciliation and validation.

  • Experience developing financial management policy.

  • Experience with State of Florida Payroll processes.

  • Experience working with the State of Florida in an accounting or financial reporting capacity.

    This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

    The salary for this postion is $20.75 per hour.

    Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain documents and spreadsheets utilizing office productivity software.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.

  • Ability to implement accounting systems.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :

  • Respond to and researching inquiries (i.e. Late payments, agency contact information, general questions) from internal and external customers (i.e. State agencies, vendors, contractors, and clients).

  • Calculating and posting Quarterly Judgment Interest Rates pursuant to section 55.03, Florida Statutes and Chapter 69I-25, Florida Administrative Code.

  • Analyzing Monthly and Quarterly Prompt Payment reports pursuant to section 215.422, Florida Statutes and Chapter 69I-24, Florida Administrative Codes that includes Aged Interest Penalty Report, Deleted Interest Penalty Report and analyzing Quarterly Prompt Payment Report.

  • Activities relating to warrant distribution. This includes but is not limited to verifying daily warrant production control logs, assist with weekly warrant inventory, maintaining agency courier information, assist with blank warrant deliveries and assist with blank warrant transfers from Transmittal to Production Control.

  • Reviewing and approving Duplicate and Forgery Affidavits; and distributing duplicate warrants to agency couriers.

  • Documenting current processes and systems. This includes but is not limited to developing, documenting, and maintaining desk procedures, training aids, email templates, customer communications and manuals, and tax related research as required by the Vendor Management Section. Also responsible for assisting in process improvement projects and system development/enhancements related to the Vendor Management Section.

  • Assist with activities related to collection and validation of Substitute Form W-9s and activities relating to processing 1099s for vendor payments statewide, as required by the Internal Revenue Service.

  • Assist with Agency and Vendor inquiries (phone calls, voicemails, and emails) and providing accurate information regarding, but is not limited to: W9s, SWVF, Duplicate Warrants, Forgeries.

  • Performing other duties as assigned within the Bureau of Vendor Relations.
