We collaborate across the organization to identify, manage, and monitor risks, offering coordinated advice on independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy, and security issues.

The opportunity

The Risk Management (RM) Senior Associate serves as the initial or secondary point of contact for client engagement teams. This role involves conducting research and analysis across one or more RM functions or processes, including interpreting policies and procedures, determining necessary actions, and making recommendations based on firm guidelines and accumulated experience. Responsibilities may also include analyzing issues and producing deliverables that document the diligence with which tasks were performed, as the work product is subject to review and scrutiny by external regulators.

Your key responsibilities

As a Risk Management (RM) Senior Associate, you’ll make educated, thoughtful decisions on Risk Management. The RM Senior Associate will help our teams comply with the firm's RM policies and procedures, including consultations on guidance related to meeting recordings and the Process for Acceptance of Clients and Engagements (PACE).

The RM Senior Associate will analyze trends to identify emerging risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. As part of that process, the RM Senior Associate could be responsible for drafting policies / guidance / communications as needed to address risks that are identified. Other responsibilities could include developing risk mitigation plans, monitoring processes, and tracking mechanisms to facilitate compliance with the firm’s RM policies and procedures.

The RM Senior Associate will have the opportunity to engage in cross-teaming projects, working closely with various departments (for example, Service Line Quality, GCO, Talent, IT and others) to ensure that RM strategies, policies, procedures and guidance are effectively implemented and maintained. They will have the opportunity to interact with executive level personnel.

Other responsibilities may include the following:

  • Identify and extract key issues and risks related to the RM function or process by comparing facts and circumstances to current firm policies and guidance.

  • Facilitate and drive to completion information and analysis requests from client teams, service line quality teams, other members of the RM team, and various functional areas within the firm (i.e. Independence, GCO, Talent).

  • Propose suggestions and solutions for improvement and/or develop new approaches or deliverables by leveraging their knowledge of existing RM processes and business experience.

  • Maintain and expand current knowledge of field of expertise and communicate new developments and resulting impact to clients and team members.

  • Other ad hoc related projects, as assigned

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to apply sound judgment to both initial and escalated consultations, with an in-depth understanding of key requirements outlined in firm RM policies and guidance.

  • Ability to exercise independent decision-making skills within the framework of RM policies and processes, leveraging your knowledge and experience to guide client teams through moderately complex issues, as well as unique and intricate situations. Propose effective solutions through targeted consultations and inquiries with the client team.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal feedback to conduct necessary research or client outreach.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, the ability to communicate risk concepts to stakeholders at all levels and keep sensitive information confidential.

  • A solid understanding of RM principles and relevant firm business.

  • A basic knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, complemented by strong problem-solving abilities, flexibility, initiative, and excellent research and communication skills.

  • Good working knowledge of computers and common software packages including analytical tools.

  • 3-5 plus years of related experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Ideally, you’ll have

  • Existing knowledge of the firm and regulators’ independence rules and policies as well as familiarity with other quality & risk management initiatives outside your area of expertise.

  • Experience interfacing with executive leaders and demonstrated knowledge in one or more RM functional areas, including proficiency in communicating processes, identifying risks, and providing solutions to mitigate risk factors associated with RM processes.

  • Experience training Associates and/or Interns to familiarize these individuals with firm processes and policies and enable these members to handle more complex issues.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $64,200 to $116,400. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $77,000 to $132,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
