Hubbard Construction Company Asphalt and Construction Intern in Tampa, Florida

The Project Engineer will develop, manage, and/or execute all phases of the construction cost control effort or the construction planning/scheduling effort for one or more large, complex and demanding projects. The Project Engineer will provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex construction project control problems. Will interface with clients, attend meetings and provide statistical reports as required.

Key Duties

  • Oversees onsite Field Engineers

  • Schedules the Quality Control Team

  • Interacts w/subcontractors as required

  • Responsible for maintenance of the project schedule including materials, equipment, and subcontractors

  • Places orders for materials and ensures delivery

  • Creates and sends all transmittal letters and keeps log of dates sent, returned and approved

  • Schedules and arranges for equipment moves on and off the job

  • Responsible for billing

  • Prepares change orders and claims for review by Project Manager

  • Compares results with previous budgets (with the Project Superintendent and the Project Manager), including verification of all monthly accruals, revenue and costs

  • Defines/optimizes the means and methods for the project (with the Project Manager)

  • Maintains and revises contract documents

  • Ensures that the administrative and accounting information from the field are reliable

  • Participates at the final acceptance of the project (with the Project Manager)

  • Responsible for maintenance of safe working environment
