Citigroup BIR Issues Management Sr Officer - SVP (hybrid) in Tampa, Florida

The Banking and International Risk Issues Management Sr Officer is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically, a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project

Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing monitoring of BIR Issues Management related to issue identification, root cause analysis/evaluation, remediation, closure, monitoring, reporting, and escalation to promote comprehensive, consistent, accurate, and timely issue resolution.

  • Keep Management aware of the risk and control environment of the Business through continuous and open communication, buy preparing and hosting meetings with Senior Management, as needed, to present and follow-up on issues, concerns and corrective action plans.

  • Serve as main point of contact for BIR Issues Management functions and audit groups to ensure audit requests are timely and appropriately provided.

  • Partnering with Issue owners to recommend holistic corrective actions, provide guidance and to ensure appropriate escalation in according with Issue Management and Escalation Policies.

  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop approaches for addressing broader corporate/thematic emerging issues.

  • Coordinate, schedule, host, and drive meetings with multiple levels of management across functional teams in 1LoD & 2LoD to drive and track remediations requiring strong communication, influence skills and diplomacy.

  • Serve as a day-to-day lead for individual workstreams and will be responsible for the completion of assigned workstreams and reviews, escalating challenges and producing relevant presentations, while executing and ensuring the delivery of high-quality output.

  • Recommend updates to BIR partners to maintain a robust Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) in compliance with the Citi Operational Risk Policy.

  • Lead or participate in multiple and concurrent enhancement / transformation initiatives to remediate any identified gaps.

  • Ensure project completion, special assignments, and other ad hoc activities as required.

  • Act as a subject matter expert providing support to stakeholders and control functions on an ad-hoc basis.

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in risk and controls, audit, or issues remediation function in a corporate environment

  • Strong execution skills required to timely address requests and deliverables.

  • Ability to independently handle problems and challenges as they arise.

  • Ability to provide independent point of view and share knowledge and implications of decisions made.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture.

  • Ability to interpret regulations and policies and draw correct conclusions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization and across different geographic locations.

  • Adaptability and ability to drive change and guide others through changing environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Curious: open-minded, with the enthusiasm and confidence to challenge

  • Stakeholder centric: excellent communication skills, with a pragmatic and practical approach based on a clear understanding of stakeholder needs.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
