The Director of Global Data Reconciliation Technology at Citi is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the technology solutions that support and enhance global reconciliation processes across the bank's various financial products and services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the bank’s reconciliation systems by leading a team of technology professionals, leveraging advanced reconciliation technologies, and implementing best practices across multiple regions. GRU is geographically aligned to a 'follow-the-sun' model with Citi Solution Centers supporting all regions and business lines. The organization's footprint spans across 10 Countries and facilitates reconcilement of over 41 billion transactions per annum. This role requires a good understanding of the industry, and direct competitors' products and services, which are necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of Technology and Operations' overall reconciliation strategy and alignment between GRU and all relevant lines of business. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Determines approach and strategy of organizational structure and implementation strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Full responsibility for management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. This will directly report to the MD / Global Head of Recon technology and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of technology professionals specializing in reconciliation systems and controls.

  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and innovation.

  • Ensure team adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

  • Management of budget and planning

Technology Strategy and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement the technology strategy for the Global Reconciliation Utility, aligning with the bank’s overall technology and business goals.

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of reconciliation systems and solutions.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process optimization through technology.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior management and key stakeholders on technology matters related to reconciliations.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status and technology initiatives to executive leadership.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Ensure all technology solutions comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technology risks related to reconciliation processes.

  • Develop and maintain robust controls to ensure data integrity and security.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the technology team.

  • Lead initiatives to benchmark and adopt industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in financial services technology, with a strong background in reconciliation systems, operations, or related functions.

  • 10+ Proven experience in leading and managing large, diverse technology teams across multiple geographies.

  • Development experience with technologies : Spark, Java, Scala, Cloudera, Hive, Tableau, React in a large scale ecosystem.

  • Good understanding of financial products, reconciliation processes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and lead strategic technology initiatives.

  • Lead and deliver local staff forums, present global, regional, and location news and updates to engage team in the progress of organization

  • Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department and ensure transparency and consistency across teams

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
