Job Responsibilities:
Trace Systems is seeking an energetic and engaged professional to lead our Human Resources (HR) team. The HR Manager will be a pivotal member of our organization as you develop and implement HR strategies and change management aligned with business initiatives. The HR Manager will lead and direct Human Resources including but not limited to employee relations and retention, organizational policies, benefits and compensation, performance management, training and development, and compliance. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations. This position will report directly to the VP, Human Resources.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for the management and development of staff and oversight of HR functions.
Champion HR strategies and initiatives that are in sync with business goals. Identify opportunities for improvement and resolve any discrepancies by presenting data driven insights and suggestions for improvement.
With the assistance of the HR Generalists, conduct thorough and objective employee relations investigations, assess risk, and determine appropriate courses of action while working closely with VP, Human Resources.
Proactively address and resolve workplace conflicts by facilitating open discussions, mediating disputes, and implementing fair solutions that align with company policies and promote a positive work environment.
Address adverse employment actions and manage the review of all termination requests to ensure compliance with due process, proper supporting documentation, and adherence to company’s policies and/or contractual requirements.
Bridge employee relations by proactively training managers and swiftly addressing grievances and providing guidance on policy interpretation, enforcement, and disciplinary actions.
Oversee annual reporting requirements including but not limited to AAP, EEO-1, VETS-4212.
Ensure compliance with legal standards across our geographically dispersed workforce, including international labor laws, multi-state labor laws, federal regulations, and HR best practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulations and adapt processes to accommodate the dynamic needs of the organization. Conduct periodic audits to identify inconsistencies and take appropriate corrective actions.
Oversee the employee lifecycle. Responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to HR metrics, such as employee turnover, absenteeism, and retention to help the organization make informed decisions.
Develop a compensation structure, considering economic trends, industry benchmarks, and business goals. Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, procedures and recommend program revisions and enhancements.
Conduct management training on employee life-cycle processes, key HR policies, regulatory compliance, and performance management for new managers.
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
Design and implement employee engagement initiatives that cultivate an inclusive and cohesive environment.
Responsible for human resources policy and procedure development.
Oversee employee benefits and business insurance.
Able to travel approximately 10%.
Minimum Qualifications:
Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in human resources; with at least 2 of those years in a supervisory role.
Experience working in government contracting, preferably with OCONUS employees.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Must have strong background in employee relations.
Experience with HR metrics and analyzing data to guide decision making and strategic planning.
In-depth knowledge of labor law, compensation, benefits, and HR best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
Professional HR Certification (e.g. PHR, SPHR, GPHR) preferred.
Ability to be flexible, motivated, resourceful, and organized to work in a multi-functional role.
Excellent diplomacy and judgment when handling confidential and challenging situations.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
Ability to build and sustain positive relationships, effectively manage conflicts, and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent education/experience required.
