JPMorgan Chase Payments Controls Management Lead - Executive Director in Tampa, Florida

We are seeking an Executive Director for our Commercial Investment Bank (CIB) Payment Controls team. This role involves aligning cross-functional support to the Sanctions and Regulatory Operations and Control Management business priorities, promoting the Payment Controls agenda, and leading governance across the program. The successful candidate will collaborate with global and regional partners across Payments, and work closely with the Head of Payment Controls to develop and implement the Payments end-to-end controls strategy. This role is integral to our Firm-wide Control Management team, which provides a centralized view of all control functions and promotes real time problem detection, escalation, review, and solutions.

As a Payments Controls Management Lead - Executive Director within the Commercial Investment Bank (CIB) Payment Controls team, you will be responsible for aligning end-to-end cross-functional support to the Sanctions and Regulatory Operations and Control Management business priorities. You will promote and partner on the execution of the Payment Controls end-to-end agenda and lead governance across the program. This role provides an opportunity to closely collaborate with key global and regional partners across Payments including Operations, Technology, Product Management, and the horizontal functional managers.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead oversight of the end-to-end system of controls that mitigates risk through active engagement, thematic reviews, risk analysis and control deep dive which continuously manage and reduce the Business's residual risk profile.

  • Engage with and conduct regular reviews with senior leadership, stakeholder committees, or other relevant bodies to validate and assess priorities across the Payments control teams.

  • Lead problem solving and data driven decision making, inclusive of process design, re-engineering, and target state modeling

  • Identify and proactively manage risk to delivery of our end-to-end target operating model strategies.

  • Navigate within the organization and align key stakeholders to influence, build consensus and get things done

  • Deliver high quality, consistent and meaningful executive reporting, and analytics to identify trends and themes to support business decisions

  • Create and deliver executive communications, status reporting, and metrics

  • Manage via a mix of direct and matrix team members and help them build/develop the right skills, experience, knowledge, and capacity in support of the above

  • Provide primary control responsibilities and oversight for all controls impacting Sanctions and Regulatory Operations business globally, including front line controls, operational controls, and technology controls

  • Chairing governance forums as necessary. Furthermore, playing a key escalation role as and when needed (to global and regional management)

  • Oversee execution by the team of a regular testing program of existing control framework, including product and control reviews

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge and experience with Control design and evaluation concepts, Risk assessment processes, Key Risk Indicator and other metrics development and the ability to assess the relevance of internal and external standards and procedures

  • Audit, CCOR and External Regulatory Exam readiness and management experience

  • Experience leading proactive and deep dive process reviews, identification of opportunities to improve controls and leading projects/programs to implement and drive measurable results

  • Ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), work well in cross-functional teams

  • Relevant Payment industry experience, ideally coupled with business management and financial experience

  • Experience managing global teams (direct and matrix) and managing successful relationships with globally dispersed stakeholders

  • Experience managing, inspiring, and motivating teams, providing vision, creativity, presence, and credibility

  • Confident communicator with ability to provide clear and succinct verbal and written updates for all levels of the organization, including escalation to senior management

  • Solution oriented, leveraging a network to identify solutions and implement them

  • Takes responsibility for issues and drives to resolution

  • Proven ability to achieve quality results in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility / adaptability to changeable directives

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Payments product and operations knowledge preferred

  • Technical and analytical skills / data management quality control experience preferred
