Robert Half Payroll Manager in Tampa, Florida

Description

We are looking for a Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director to join our team in Tampa, Florida. In this crucial role, you will oversee the daily workflow of the payroll department, ensuring the smooth running of payroll transactions, and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the payroll department and provide constructive feedback to the team members.

• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, unique compensation calculations, taxes, and other deductions.

• Maintain up-to-date payroll records and reports, ensuring accuracy at all times.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

• Facilitate audits by providing necessary records and documentation.

• Assist payroll specialists with escalated issues or conversations, providing necessary support and guidance.

• Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing systems and procedures.

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, termination, and changes to pay rates.

• Perform other duties as necessary to support the smooth running of the payroll department.

Requirements

  • Experience – You have 10 to 15 years of payroll experience, as well as experience with multi-state and multi-location payroll. Multi-entity experience is a plus.

  • Great Communication – You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organization and Detail Oriented – You know how to manage your time effectively and efficiently, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Professional – You know how to handle sensitive data in a confidential and professional manner.

  • Problem Solver – You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
