Job Title: Pharmacy Clerk

Job Description

The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for pharmacy data entry and handling phone calls to members and providers. These phone calls involve providing members with decisions on prior authorization (PA) requests, whether approved, denied, or requiring more information. The majority of the work involves data entry using two screens in a highly production-driven environment. Even if goals are met, adherence to the schedule is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry of prior authorization requests from providers and customer service agents.

  • Handle outgoing calls to members to provide decisions on PA requests.

  • Provide customer service and administrative support as needed.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office for order entry and other administrative tasks.

  • Provide printer support and other technical assistance as required.

Essential Skills

  • Pharmacy experience

  • Data entry experience

  • Strong computer skills

  • Strong written communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or managed care

  • Familiarity with administrative support tasks

Work Environment

This role offers a full-time work schedule with flexible hours, including the possibility of working from any time zone, although the Eastern Time Zone is preferred. Candidates must be comfortable working between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM in their respective time zones, with rotating Saturdays and some holidays. Employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision benefits while on contract. The position offers exposure to managed care and pharmacy services, with the potential for permanent placement, although it is not guaranteed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
