Akima Senior Technical Advisor in Tampa, Florida

The EDAT Technical Advisor is a blend of technical capability demonstration, customer-oriented engagement, and project management responsibilities. The Technical Advisor will serve as the primary point of contact (POC) to the assigned Information Technology Management Office (ITMO) Liaison Officer (LNO) and work closely with customer stakeholders to identify & define technical and training requirements. This role is critical in advising on innovative technical solutions, evaluating project needs, and promoting synergy across the USSOCOM ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring a deep technical background, strategic vision, and the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a range of audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and/or present capability briefings for annual C5I regional working groups, monthly customer technical exchanges, and additional planning sessions as required

  • Promote proof of concepts (POCs), demos, labs, and technical capabilities within EDAT Communities of Interest (COIs) to encourage innovation and forward-thinking solutions.

  • Identify potential synergies across the USSOCOM ecosystem to enhance collaborative efforts and improve operational outcomes.

  • Advise on technical solutions and emerging technologies to address project challenges and align with mission objectives.

  • Maintain and update the EOI (Expressions of Interest) Catalog for assigned mission partners, ensuring it aligns with evolving mission needs.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding across the board.

  • Planning Serve as the primary POC to the assigned ITMO Liaison Officer (LNO) and collaborate with stakeholders to discover, define, and refine project requirements.

  • Evaluate project requirements and recommend innovative technologies, solutions, and strategies that drive mission success.

  • Leverage strong analytical skills and deep technical knowledge to provide insight into technical strategies and future technologies.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by driving technical innovation and aligning capabilities with customer needs.

  • Collaborate with EDAT Task leads to ensure solution alignments fulfills operational requirement Monitoring Conduct stakeholder engagements regarding regional project portfolio status.

  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure continual operational and project alignment.

  • Facilitate problem resolution and project barrier elimination / mitigation.

  • Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of technical issues at the customer level by collaborating with the EDAT team.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance (or equivalent level required by the contract).

  • Proven experience working in a technical advisory capacity, preferably within a DoD/USSOCOM environment.

  • Strong background in analyzing, advising on, and implementing technical solutions for complex projects.

  • Expertise in identifying and evaluating innovative technologies, with a focus on their potential application in military and defense operations.

  • Experience maintaining catalogs such as the EOI or similar technical resources.

  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders to capture and define technical project requirements.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Experience working within a collaborative, mission-focused team and across multi-functional technical teams.
