Job Title: Construction SuperintendentJob Description

Our Client, a well-established and employee-owned company since 1989, is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent for commercial, multifamily, municipal, and industrial projects on the West Coast of Florida. Responsibilities

  • Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities including OSHA safety compliance.

  • Prepare and communicate project schedules to plan upcoming activities and stay on target.

  • Provide ongoing scheduling input to Project Management staff for all scheduling efforts.

  • Coordinate daily activities for all subcontractors at any stage of construction.

  • Complete all project construction in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.

  • Report any problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions.

  • Manage construction budgets set by the Project Manager, tracking construction costs, and submitting all invoices to Accounting in a timely manner.

  • Prepare daily log reports for site conditions, manpower, and activities in sufficient detail.

  • Ensure all parties follow all safety procedures and practices according to both OSHA and company requirements.

  • Conduct pre-installation safety evaluations and action plans with contractors to ensure work activities are conducted in the safest manner possible.

  • Schedule and participate in necessary inspections required by local and state regulations.

  • Organize final inspections for completed work.

  • Monitor daily construction procedures to ensure proper quality is achieved.

  • Maintain consistent daily communication with project management staff to ensure all parties are informed of current project status and potential issues affecting progress.

  • Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies per company procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction supervision.

  • Experience with safety, preconstruction, staff development, and retention, and customer interaction.

  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, finish trades, and layout.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.

  • Strong team leadership skills and effective communication abilities.

  • Time management and project organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and enforcement.

  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and equipment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Experience with scheduling software is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Procore software.

  • Experience in ground-up construction projects.

Work Environment

Work will be based on the West Coast of Florida. Our Client offers a supportive work environment with benefits such as medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, long-term disability, 401k, ESOP-equity/profit share, 16 days of PTO, and 8 company-paid holidays. They also provide lodging and a $50/day food allowance, a truck allowance of $500/month, and a gas card. Our Client hosts various events including holiday parties, cookouts, and picnics, and pays for employee parking.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $145000.00
