Citigroup SVP, Operational Risk - Climate Risk Framework - C14 (Hybrid) in Tampa, Florida

The SVP, Operational Risk Sr Officer I - Climate Risk Framework will support the Director, Global Operational Risk Lead for Climate Risk in designing, developing and implementing the ORM Climate Risk Framework for Citi. As a key workstream under the firm's enterprise-wide Climate Risk Management Program, the Operational Risk workstream will define minimum standards for the business to identify, manage, monitor and mitigate impacts of climate change to Citi's operations, business resiliency and operating assets. It will also define minimum standards and guidelines for ORM's independent challenge of the 1st line of defense to ensure adherence to the framework. The selected candidate will define framework requirements for embedding climate risk measurement into ORM's stress testing and scenario analysis activities. Finally, the selected candidate will establish governance mechanisms (or embed climate risk in existing risk governance mechanisms) for climate-related operational risks. Prior experience in operational risk management, and particularly in continuity of business/ operational resilience is preferred. A track record of successfully designing and implementing risk management frameworks is required. The role requires excellent communication skills in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasionally external regulators. Provides authoritative advice to balance efficient operations and customer experience with adequate risk controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and oversees the application of the operational climate risk framework for the firm

  • Independently assess climate-related operational risks and drive actions within the 1st line of defense to address the root causes

  • Holistically understands and articulates the impacts of climate change (both physical risks and transition risks) on all operational risk categories, including but not limited to continuity of business, operational resilience, third party risk, human capital risk, technology risk, cyber risk and fraud risk

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the ORM climate risk framework

  • Resolves transactional level escalations coming from internal partners

  • Develops and maintains relationships across the business users and Lines of Defense to drive adoption of and adherence to the climate risk framework as it relates to operational risk

  • Owns and maintains a model for the analysis of operational climate risk impact, and associated reporting

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience.

  • Exceptional relationship management skills; must be able to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships.

  • Detailed oriented with analytical skills, as the role requires a large amount of data manipulation and presentation. Expert in Microsoft Office Tools.

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Masters degree preferred

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
