Role and Responsibilities
Summary
The Systems Expert is proficient in all aspects of design, analysis, implementation and support of systems, software or other solutions to Information Technology and acts as project leader for all assigned projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Actively participates in the maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and support of operating systems, applications, and services.
Perform routine problem analysis and resolution design for systems and applications.
Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, communication, network, and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required in accordance with SLA guidelines.
Lead the design, planning, installation, and support effort for computer systems, network hardware, software applications, and peripherals.
Lead the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Participate with the Business System Architecture (BSA) team to support the IT role/functions on project/program planning.
Support the IT initiative with active involvement in the planning/organizing projects (both internal to IT and customer-driven/facing).
Exercises independent judgment in the planning, scheduling, organizing, controlling and monitoring of IT projects.
Installs patches and upgrades to server hardware, firmware, and/or software to production platforms.
Effectively use Help Desk ticketing system for incident and problem management, customer interaction and follow-up.
Create and maintain System Configuration documentation using industry best practices to meet customer objectives, while maintaining the security and integrity of data and infrastructure.
Maintain reports regarding system downtime, plans for preventative maintenance, and disaster recovery.
Participate in task/role planning for System Administrator II and System Administrator I staff.
Active contribution towards Cross-Training initiative for Tier III Platforms.
Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
Assist with management of Active Directory, Group Policies, Users and Computers.
Properly prioritize, coordinate, and escalate unresolved issues or emergencies to other support tiers/teams in accordance with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
Liaises with end-users, management and other systems departments.
Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department management.
On-call for production system support.
Provide shift-based continuous monitoring of network and storage performance providing Tier 2 & 3 support for a global network infrastructure.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
BS degree in computer related curriculum and 7+ years network and operating system experience, or AA degree and 6 years’ experience in network and operating system design, test and maintenance or equivalent related experience.
Experience managing/implementing server/clients with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Platforms and Federation Services (NetIQ, ADFS, Duo, SAML, etc.)
Experience managing/implementing Windows Server technologies (2008 R2-2016 preferred), Active Directory, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
Experience managing/implementing the following: Office 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, InTune, Conditional Access Policies, etc.), Microsoft SQL 2008/2012/2014/2016 (DB Maintenance, Access), Microsoft IIS 7/8, Linux support (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Experience managing/implementing Mail Security Gateways (IronPort, ProofPoint, etc.)
Previous experience supporting an Enterprise Backup Solution.
Endpoint management/reporting using Enterprise Antivirus Management server technologies (TrendMicro, Symantec Enterprise Protection Manager, etc.)
Experience with virtualization (VMware vCenter/ESXi, VMware Horizon) – VM Deployment, Monitoring, Configuration, Setup, and Expansion.
End-point management/reporting via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Widows Server Update Services (WSUS).
Experience supporting Cisco UCS Blade infrastructure.
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP, Load-Balancers, etc.)
Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
Must have well refined troubleshooting skills, ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify and resolve systemic problems.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, while effectively focusing on priority issues.
Ability to create, document, and follow processes and procedures.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Incumbent must hold one or more of the following: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Preferred Skills
Experience with SAN, NAS, Virtual Storage and Backup technologies (Nimble, Veeam, vSAN, and/or DataDomain).
Administration experience on Microsoft Enterprise CA – Cert Requests/Monitoring
Administration experience on Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
Administration experience on Microsoft File Server (DFS-R/DFS-N, ABE) – File Share Requests, Recovery, Permission Management
Administration experience managing/implementing an Enterprise Backup Solution.
Familiarity with Information Assurance programs is a plus
Microsoft PowerShell Scripting for Server/Platform management
Any of the following: VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CISSP
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.
Must be able to work overtime. on and off-shifts as required.
The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.
