We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Wastewater Process Engineer who will support our Florida/Puerto Rico Water Market team, build strategic business partnerships, and deliver high profile projects with key municipal clients in Florida and Puerto Rico. As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects Project Engineer for wastewater treatment and natural treatment systems projects - planning, directing, monitoring, and/or delivering all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning.   In addition, water quality data analysis and treatment wetland designs would be subject areas to engage in to develop solutions for our clients. Your analytical writing and presentation skills will be called upon as you lead development of quality client deliverables.   As a Wastewater Engineer, you will need to understand client organizations and processes, develop and maintain consistent relationships at all organizational levels, and work to ensure that Jacobs is the consultant-of-choice for our clients.

  • Become an integral part of delivery teams through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other specified requirements stated in the contract. You will have direct access to Jacobs’ well-known, vast network of technical specialists to support your success and career advancement

  • Work with Project Managers to develop the most suitable solutions for our clients most challenging issues

  • Be accountable for successfully completing projects to the satisfaction of clients and key stakeholders, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacobs’ business and policy expectations are met in the areas of health and safety, quality, financial, project delivery, and risk management

  • Play a leadership role in business development activities that result in the award of new wastewater and natural system contracts. This typically includes client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, teaming arrangements, proposal preparation, and oral presentations

  • Contribute to the development of a Tampa Bay Area Market Strategy that delivers leading-edge technology solutions for our clients while also actively diversifying and expanding our client base

  • Demonstrate leadership by example with integrity and candor and in support of Jacobs Culture of Caring work environment

  • Mentor and support junior staff in the local and regional water group. Our Tampa Water Group is growing!

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in environmental engineering

  • 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience with Wastewater and Constructed Wetland systems, planning, and municipal consulting. Progressive experience working on small to large treatment projects

  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Strong understanding of industry standard tools and metrics associated with wastewater and constructed wetlands, and a proven history contributing to project delivery teams to successfully meet client expectations

  • Attributes that include good oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis and technical problem solving, and a strong organizational approach

  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams

Ideally, here’s what you will also have:

  • Strong network with Tampa Bay Region municipalities

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related engineering discipline
