WSP is currently seeking an exceptional candidate for a Senior Civil Engineer for our Guam office.

Your Impact

• Lead and coordinate designs and design teams

• Manage designs and tasks and identify changes and risks

• Responsible for coordination with other design disciplines, including structures, hydraulics/drainage, traffic, utilities, right-of-way, and environmental.

• Lead and/or oversee the preparation of final design plans, cost estimates and special provisions

• Develop memorandums and other written technical documents.

• Perform complex design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of transportation projects in AutoCADD Civil 3d and Microstation Inroads.

• Assist in Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing the work of other Engineers and Consultants

• Maintain communications with clients

• Determine client requirements and contribute to the development of scopes, schedules, and budgets.

• Completing ad hoc projects as needs arise

• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering with minimum of 4 years experience in design of highways/roadways and/or project management.

• If your experience does not match the listed requirement - please feel free to still apply. We are currently considering multiple openings of various experience levels.

• Engineer in Training Certification.

• Professional Engineer Registration for Guam or Professional Engineer Registration in another State, or US Territory and able to obtain reciprocity in Guam within 6 months is preferred.

• Proficient knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.

• Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work.

• Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of facilities or structures, applying applicable regulations and policies.

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

• Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

• Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

• Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD).

• Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.

• Ability to assertively direct others in the field such as subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.

• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or ArcGIS

• Transportation engineering experience with Federal projects, or city and county or local government work.

• Design Experience with bridge design, pavement design, traffic engineering and drainage design.

• Experience in preparation of grant applications

• Project Management experience
