Summary
Preforms job functions in the most cost effective manner consistent with safety and excellent customer service. The employee is required to use resourcefulness and good judgment in the performance of all duties and must be able to work in a self-directed environment with little to no direct supervision. In the day-today operations of the warehouse, the employee will perform all the functions integral to those operations, including but not limited to, receiving, issuing, storing, and accounting for a variety of materials, supplies and equipment. The employee is also responsible for procuring and expediting material.

What You'll Do
Researches, negotiates, purchases, expedites, receives, stores and issues material, supplies and equipment, and initiates and completes all documents and/or computer transactions associated with those functions.
Maintains accurate inventory records of material in warehouse.
Safely and competently operates any and all material handling equipment assigned to warehouse.
Uses a variety of computer systems to facilitate material handling processes and maintain accurate records; i.e. FASTER, MATS, CICS, and Microsoft Products.
Initiates and administers purchasing documents as necessary. Utilizes Purchasing card within limits, and maintains/reconciles records monthly.
Initiates requests for new required stocking items and provide Purchasing with vendor names, part numbers and descriptions, and appropriate stocking levels.
Evaluates and recommends materials for reuse or disposal and prepares documents for processing.
Acts as liaison between customers, contractors, vendors and employees to meet material and information needs in a cost effective manner.
Maintains open lines of communication to internal and external customers. This includes follow-up with material requests, requirements, and any changes in materials that would affect the outcome of the customer’s request or our ability to meet that request. Maintains a current library of information about new material, parts, supplies and equipment native to the customer’s operation.
Works with other employees as a team to meet material needs; may lead team members to facilitate completion of various projects.
Safely handles/maintains records/processes hazardous chemicals and various other regulated substances according to local, state, and federal regulations, e.g. bulk fuel deliveries and asbestos.
All of the above duties will be performed in a manner that supports the goals of Salt River Project and Transportation Services.

Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties. Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paper work. May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
What It Takes To Succeed
Must have integrity and willingness to take ownership. Must have a strong commitment to safety and customer service; must be able to work with other employees as a team, but also be able to make independent decisions about work with limited supervision. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in work assignments; must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, accurately and in a cost-effective manner. Must be able to make cost-effective business decisions that support SRP goals. Responsibility of this position is extensive and can impact our ability to maintain power to external customers, both residential and industrial; value of material and equipment used is great, and safety risk is moderate. Employee is subject to 24-hour emergency call-out and may work multiple shifts and locations. Must be certified to safely and competently operate any and all material handling equipment including, but not limited to, electric standup forklifts and gas/diesel forklifts.
Experience
Five years’ experience as a Auto Partsman (Or equivalent outside work experience)
Testing and Certifications
