Amazon Program Manager I, Global Logistics, Drayage in Tempe, Arizona

Description

Amazon is looking for a Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own tactical, cross-functional projects and programs across multiple verticals. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive project management experience, combined with deep analytical capabilities and a keen sense of innovation, to lead complex projects from conception to completion.

We are seeking a Program Manager to effectively support the enhancement of our supply chain and transportation networks across our FBA product line. In this role, you will support project initiatives, track project timelines, and develop mechanisms for communicating status, risk, and business challenges. The ideal candidate must be adept at cross-team coordination, project management, and data analysis, with a proven history of delivering results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee various cross-functional projects, ensuring successful delivery.

  • Utilize data to make decisions and understand gaps within our network.

  • Set clear objectives for programs, leveraging data analytics to drive improvements and achieve metrics.

  • Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success.

  • Evaluate and prioritize projects in conjunction with customer needs and technical team inputs.

  • Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems, preventing common project pitfalls.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues.

  • Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance.

  • Manage and communicate project budgets effectively.

A day in the life

  • Support the scale of our FBA business within a specific product line to solve for capacity gaps, Leg3 speed, and promise reliability.

  • Responsible for providing visibility to the leadership team via written documents on an ongoing basis. Partnering with relevant stakeholders and team members, anticipating and removing obstacles with a sense of urgency and keeping program deliverables on track.

  • Performing data analysis/modelling to analyze capacity gaps and come up with recommendations to solve.

  • Comfortable with ambiguities, conflicting priorities and multi-cultural and matrix environment.

  • Track record of working with and meeting ambitious timelines.

  • Some travel will be required for this role. This travel is not expected to exceed 25%.

Amazon is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support the "Relay" Program for Global Mile destination drayage operations. We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding organization in search of highly skilled supply chain professionals. The Relay program is a technology-focused initiative that addresses Global Mile's drayage capacity requirements for the next three years, ensuring customer satisfaction while meeting performance and budget objectives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external, to support a multi-year roadmap with significant business impact. This will involve working alongside Amazon Product and Operations teams. Their work will involve handling challenging but straightforward situations, focusing on expansion of the Relay program and supporting day-to-day operations teams.

Outstanding candidates will possess a background in global logistics, with expertise in operations, tech products, and data analysis. They will be responsible for supporting Relay capabilities in the US and EU markets. Successful candidates should be able to retrieve and analyze data using tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL, or other data management systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • Supply chain, transportation, or logistic network management solution experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology

  • 2+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience of Six Sigma/Lean analytical techniques

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
