* Essential Job Functions*

1. Assist with the administration of the Company\'s written SQP (safety/quality/production) Program and risk management efforts within at the Toyota Proving Grounds in Wittman, Arizona.

2. Verify compliance with the Company\'s health and safety programs, site-specific safety plans, OSHA, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations relating to occupational health and safety at the project specific location.

3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all existing and proposed local, State, and Federal laws, rules and regulations relating to occupational health and safety and industrial hygiene.

4. Plan and conduct new hire safety orientations, site-specific safety training classes, safety meetings, safety audits, and risk assessments at jobsite locations.

5. Schedule, perform, and document jobsite inspections and audits to identify any work hazards, unsafe conditions, unsafe equipment or unsafe actions. Communicate results and recommended corrective actions to management and field personnel, and follow-up to ensure corrective actions are implemented and work hazards are abated in a timely manner.

6. Ensure that job hazard analysis (JHA) forms, toolbox talks, and management inspections are properly completed. Train employees on proper use of HSE software/app for electronic safety inspections, audits and recordkeeping.

7. Ensure all incidents or unsafe conditions are reported immediately to project management.

8. Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to management for continual improvement.

9. Promote effective communication of best practices, safety metrics, and continual improvement in health and safety and involving all employees in a safety culture.

10. Lead the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Perform root cause analysis and prepare and present incident reviews to management of all findings and corrective actions.

11. Provide health and safety training in accordance with the Company\'s health and safety program and ensure that training records are maintained and updated.

12. Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations.

13. Effectively teach, train, mentor, and lead employees in safe work practices, use and maintenance of PPE, and complying with the Company\'s written safety Program.

14. Verify that first aid supplies, safety signage, emergency equipment, fire extinguishers and PPE are onsite and properly maintained.

15. Complete other tasks or duties as assigned.

OSHA 30 Construction Industry Outreach Program (US)

OSHA 510 Construction Industry Standards (US)

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to write clearly, precisely and accurately summarize lengthy or complicated information.
  • Computer proficiency (email, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases).
  • Ability to work in a high production environment with varied work hours (60+ hours per week, including occasional night and weekend work) and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of employees, management, executives, owners, government agencies, and members of the public.
  • Ability to communicate calmly and professionally, particularly in stressful situations when disagreements or differences of opinion exist.
  • Leads by example and exercises good judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, planning, and time management skil s.
  • Ability to think strategically.
