Summary
Design, administer and communicate budget and financial plan systems. Provide financial analyses in support of SRP’s financial decision-making processes. Provide support of SRP’s annual budget and financial planning processes as well as monthly reporting. Provide support of major and ad hoc projects within the Financial Services area, including Pricing, Financial Planning, Energy Risk Management and Treasury initiatives. Prepare financial justification for rate increases. Prepares and analyzes contract pricing; corporate performance measurement; retail and wholesale rates; rate adjustments; cost and engineering economic studies; and researches issues in economics and finance of water and power. Supports with key financial data and statistics that will be shared with SRP Capital Governance Committee, Treasurer, Chief Financial Executive, and GM Staff key financial data and statistics to develop and administer financial goals and objectives. Provide qualitative and quantitative economic and financial analyses for corporate-wide use
What You'll Do
Retrieve, analyze and summarize business, operations, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, and/or predict business outcomes.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) in order to support business decisions.
Typically uses dedicated business intelligence applications and/or cloud services (e.g.,PowerBI, Tableau), but may also leverage the reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or database software vendors (SAP, Copperleaf, MCR).
Develop and maintain financial plan, corporate capital budget, O&M budget, financing cost budget, association pro forma budget, cash budget and payroll budget.
Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis in support of helping SRP achieve its long-term financial objections.
Support the development of financial analyses, models, and systems based on operational, economic, market and internal data to develop financial scenarios, plans, and budgets, and to quantify and report SRP financial performance.
Provide projected key financial metrics in support of financial decision-making processes.
Provide analytical support as needed throughout the Financial Services organization. Activities could include cash flow analysis, liquidity calculations, long-term borrowing plans, price process and borrowing process support.
Assist in budget and capital prioritization process as needed.
Provide analysis of historical financial performance, operations and market information using business software packages and statistical software tools, and develop models to predict future outcomes. Work often requires the analysis of large datasets using Copperleaf, SAP, Excel, MCR or SAS modeling.
Plays an active role as financial educator in the company.
Maintains excellent relationships with Resource Planning, Pricing, Treasury and other internal departments.
Model multiple capital portfolios to identify optimized solutions that create value, meet strategic goals, and minimize overall risk.
Work with subject matter experts and financial analysts throughout SRP to ensure thorough evaluations are performed and business cases developed for each capital investment.
Perform net present value calculations and related financial analysis in support of investment decisions.
Experience
Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor.
Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
