Starting Pay: $39,800-$75,361, DOE;

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelor's degree or enrollment in an approved teaching program
Experience: Classroom experience preferred
Certification: Valid local state teaching certificate in assigned content area or enrollment in an alternate certification program
Background: Clear FBI background check
Language: Strong verbal and writing skills in English; Spanish fluency preferred

Job Duties
Classroom Instruction
Substitute teach students in grades Kindergarten – 8th grade as needed due to teacher absences or leaves of absence.
When subbing, create a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best.
Utilize provided academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessments aligned to Athlos’ 3 foundational pillars of a Prepared Mind (https://www.athlosjp.org/academics/prepared-mind-pillar/) , Healthy Body (https://www.athlosjp.org/academics/healthy-body-pillar/) , and Performance Character (https://www.athlosjp.org/academics/performance-character-pillar/) .
Delivers instruction that engages students and ensures student growth and achievement in accordance with grade level standards.
Differentiates instruction based on individual needs, learning style, and abilities.
Instructional Support
When not subbing, provide support on adopting research-proven, standards-based, student-centered instructional practices school-wide.
Assist teachers in effectively gathering and using relevant student data to improve instruction.
Assist the School Leaders as needed with student achievement goals.
Model best instructional practices, strategies, and classroom management strategies for teachers.
Support the implementation of the Athlos behavior management philosophy that utilizes aspects of PBIS and restorative practices.
In collaboration with the principal and leadership team, designs and executes a successful model of professional development.
Support implementation and execution of teaching strategies and school-wide structures in the lower school program in accordance with the Athlos model.
Collaborate with the leadership team to establish a culture of excellence that values the individual and embraces the group.

Tracks student attendance, behavioral issues, and classroom events when subbing.
Participates in regular school-wide and individual professional development including professional learning communities.
Pursues ambitious professional development goals and student learning targets.
Actively participates in critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent teacher conferences and more.
Gives and receives positive and constructive feedback from colleagues.
Honors schedules and deadlines.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Classroom and video platforms such as: Zoom or Teams.
Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage the entire classroom.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Experience working in diverse communities and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.
Demonstrated integrity and high standards in managing information in a confidential and professional manner.
