About the Position:
The primary responsibility is to execute projects from conceptual phase to commissioning while adhering to defined budget and scheduling requirements. Position reports to the Engineering Manager and coordinates with Mechanical engineering, production, and maintenance team members to complete project assignments. Track engineering expense & capital budgeting compliance. Assist to ensure the proper design, installation, modification & maintainability of new & existing plant equipment, buildings & facilities. Assist engineering & maintenance to provide the necessary support to the production organization in order to promote the production of the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost.
Responsibilities:
Provide support to Prepare cost estimates, financially justify project, prepare budgets, review design, supervise installation & commissioning. Researches new equipment, systems & processes to advance plant operations on smaller projects.
Provide support to ensure safety, environmental & other regulatory compliances by working with appropriate associates on EHS issues, following the implementation of MSR’s & continually improving the communication across all relevant departments.
Assist in contractor management processes & periodically audit contractor’s work to ensure that safe work practices & standard operating procedures are followed.
Responsible for the design, estimating, modification, layout, purchase, and installation of plant machinery and equipment to ensure safety, quality and production requirements are met.
Works closely with area team members to evaluate and implement changes and additions, improve safety, efficiency, and reliability of machinery and equipment.
When necessary, works with area team to evaluate, troubleshoot, and resolve process equipment issues and modifications.
Expands technical knowledge and skill development and maintains an awareness of the latest developments via company and external training opportunities.
Acts as mentor in working with co-op engineers and associate engineers.
Understands Lean Manufacturing principles and actively initiates & participates in continuous improvement projects and teams.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Experience:
5 + years of experience working with multidisciplinary Engineering & Maintenance associates to achieve cost effective goals.
Equipment design experience & project engineering or project management role is preferred.
Experience with PLC's
Project experience including intstallation of new equipment and equipment start-ups
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology, program & debug programming languages & troubleshoot machine problems.
Ability to understand & design modern safety control systems.
Ability to understand electrical diagrams & some knowledge in design electrical control systems.
Ability to interpret & create technical CAD drawings & schematics.
