Position Summary:
UTHealth Houston’s Human Resource Innovation, Analytics, and Technology Team is looking for a Business Systems and information Analyst. Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President, this analyst will play an active role in a varied range of initiatives that will involve business process analysis, data extraction, and information visualization. Identifies opportunities for business process improvement and initiates projects to make improvements with or without deploying information technology.
You must be tech-savvy and have a grasp of analysis, project management, and the use of data. This employee will learn how to use data analytics and business analysis in the context of the Human Resources function. You must be able to collaborate with a team and know software and technology such as Generative AI tools, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Python. Exposure to human resources will be an asset but is not required.
This role will be primarily on-site. An essential part of this employee’s responsibilities will be partnering with our Associate Vice President of HR Innovation, Analytics, and Technology Services. You will be assisting him with his schedule and making sure projects are on target and things are running with the right results being produced. Your office will be in our University Center Tower which is in the heart of the Texas Medical Center.

Position Key Accountabilities:
Desire and willingness to learn Talent Management/Recruiting, Compensation, Performance Management, employee learning and development processes, and HRIS systems (Taleo/Oracle, Oracle Fusion, Peoplesoft, Success Factors)
Analyzes current business processes, suggests improvements, and participates in the design of new business processes and systems.
Conducts business systems analysis and design, data modeling, process flow modeling, and process reengineering. Analyzes business processes and reviews existing information systems. Interviews users. Analyzes process flows and identifies opportunities for improvement. Maps existing business processes. Documents existing business processes and business rules.
Configure the HRIS systems to meet the business requirements
Prepares business cases, including cost/benefit analysis for proposed processes.
Participates in the design of new systems that support business processes. Designs and implements new or improved business processes. Reviews new systems designs and functions. Compares differences between existing systems and new systems. Design system modifications. Designs interfaces to other systems. Identifies data, interfaces, and test requirements. Designs and executes systems tests and acceptance test scripts and procedures. Develops and leads communications as part of system implementation efforts. You will help to ensure the referential integrity of the data model.
Develops reports and documents for existing business processes and business rules. Identifies reporting requirements.
Develop organizational changes and implementation plans. Analyzes training and organizational changes. Designs training materials. Trains users in new procedures and systems.
Document, resolve, track, and monitor the system's administrative issues to ensure a timely resolution and follow up with clients
Identify, analyze, research, and escalate technical issues, ensuring timely resolution for users
Communicates with clients and co-workers via oral and written communications, including presentations.
Adheres to UT-H IT policies and procedures and industry-accepted practices.
Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Communicates project status and objectives. Communicates with project team and constituencies.
Conduct post-implementation review and document goal attainment. Provides post-implementation support.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, a business-related field, or related experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year of experience in systems analysis and design is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
