Position Description:

The Area of Management in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University (TTU) invites applications for one or more full time, 9-month tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant or associate professor to begin in Fall 2025. Candidates with a background in strategy, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, human resource management, or a related field will be considered.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive and include financial support for data acquisition and domestic and international conference travel. Additional funding is available for at least three years of summer research support, and candidates will benefit from a reduced teaching load for their first three years.

About the College:

The Rawls College of Business is AACSB accredited, and offers BBA degrees with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several MBA programs are offered. First, a Professional MBA hybrid program is offered for students who wish to remain employed full-time; classes are offered one weekend per month in three locations in Texas: Lubbock, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, as well as an online MBA. A third MBA program is specifically designed for students with undergraduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Finally, the College offers a number of Dual Degree MBA programs. We also offer MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research & analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. We have 71 tenure track faculty and 59 non-tenure-track faculty. The College has 4,640 undergraduate students and 872 graduate students.

About the Department/School/Area:

The Area of Management currently has 24 faculty members and 12 doctoral students, who publish research in top journals in the field and are award-winning subject-matter experts in diversity, entrepreneurship, family business, human resource management, leadership, organizational behavior, organization theory, and strategic management. The Area takes pride in teaching excellence, and faculty members have been awarded various teaching awards.

Faculty Qualifications:

  1. Candidates must hold a doctorate in Management or a related field. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply if all doctoral degree requirements will be completed by August 2025.

  2. A demonstrated record or aptitude for high-quality research in the field of management.

  3. Specific experience in teaching management courses; including strategy, entrepreneurship, family business, leadership, organizational behavior, and/or human resource management.

  4. Service experience or demonstrated aptitude to engage in service to the department, college, and university.
