The GOM Measurement Advisor will be part of the GOM Ops Mtc Measurement Team and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans.     

·         Ensure compliance with company and federal safety and environmental regulations and policies in all job duties and responsibilities.

·         Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all company safety practices, procedures, and policies.

·         Support Measurement Technicians in calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining measurement equipment, including single-phase oil and gas meters, multiphase meters, sampling systems, Gas Chromatographs, Ultrasonic meters, and sample conditioning systems.

·         Review diagnostics of multiphase meters, perform validations, and make adjustments to meet accuracy requirements.

·         Coordinate with various pipeline companies to ensure timely completion of meter calibrations, equipment repairs, water draws, and distribution of volume statements.

·         Review oil and gas volume statements from pipelines to ensure accurate reporting and allocation, identify errors, request revisions, and ensure proper prior period adjustments.

·         Review LACT Meter Proving reports, Batch reports, Sales Gas Meter calibrations, and Oil & Gas analysis for accuracy and data integrity.

·         Oversee third-party service providers to ensure job duties are performed within company and federal guidelines and safe work practices.

·         Coordinate with various third-party companies for equipment-specific troubleshooting, repair, installation, or replacement.

·         Review oil and gas volumes for the allocation department, identify errors, request revisions, and ensure proper prior period adjustments.

·         Coordinate activities related to measurement equipment projects driven by measurement needs or capital project requirements.

·         Review monthly facility balance statements, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrections.

·         Learn new equipment software, applications, standards, and regulatory requirements related to current and future measurement components.

·         Continuously self-educate, stay updated on changing technology, and maintain familiarity with daily operations and hazards using EHS and other resources.

·         Maintain effective communication with all personnel, vendors, and contractors to ensure job performance aligns with objectives and goals.

·         Ensure clear and timely written and verbal communication with Measurement and Operations department personnel.

·         Fulfil job responsibilities in accordance with Oxy’s Core Values. 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Measurement, Hydrocarbon Allocation and Custody Transfer measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for LACT meter proving, Sales Gas meter calibration, and Oil & Gas sampling for Custody Transfer.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for liquid and gas meter operation, calibration, and Oil & Gas sampling, for allocation.
  • Understand the basics of Ultrasonic Gas Meters, Gas Chromatographs and Multiphase meters.
  • Knowledge of single-phase metering by positive displacement, helical turbine, orifice, coriolis and v-cone, for oil and natural gas systems, troubleshooting and equipment testing procedures.
  • Understand aspects of oil and gas volume statement review, error identification and data gathering for prior period adjustment requests.
  • Understand aspects of a 3rd party service provider’s responsibilities.
  • Ability to navigate and use Windows-based programs such as OMNICOM, PCCU32, Mon 2000.
  • Experience in the use of computers and a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel and work on offshore locations, around heavy equipment, and in variable environmental conditions when needed.
