Job Description

The Semiconductor Process Engine er develops, improves, and maintains high-performance compound semiconductor (GaN and InP) device processes for next-generation microsystems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works closely with other team members in a cleanroom environment, developing, maintaining and improving semiconductor manufacturing processes

  • Assists in transition of semiconductor technologies from development to manufacturing

  • Creates and maintains up-to-date process travelers, procedures and documentation for semiconductor Foundry processes

  • Oversees wafer lots through cleanroom fabrication steps for both R&D and production processes

  • Performs metrology (SEM, AFM, Ellipsometry) in support of cleanroom process development

  • Diagnoses semiconductor fabrication yield losses, and implements corrective actions

  • Develops, sustains and assesses manufacturing processes, including Design of Experiments (DoE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Qualifications & Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Knowledge of processing of semiconductor devices, preferably Gallium Nitride (GaN) and/or Indium Phosphide (InP)

  • Knowledge and experience with cleanroom processes such as: electron beam and photolithography, evaporator or sputtered metal systems, dielectric deposition (CVD or ALD), wet and dry etch chemistries and processes, and chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP)

  • Strong verbal, presentation and technical writing skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Advanced computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

  • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Science or Engineering with five (5) plus years of experience working in a cleanroom environment as a process engineer

  • Direct experience with Gallium Nitride or Indium Phosphide material systems is preferred.

Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen

Salary Range:

$112,200.00-$150,260.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
