Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

The Process Engineer will be responsible for working in both facilities in Three Rivers. They will play a pivotal role in optimizing and enhancing our manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. They will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain innovative solutions that drive continuous improvement in our production processes. The company is still in launch mode and so their engineering team is relatively smaller and will require someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Research, design, and develop processes to optimize productivity and workflow

• Determine the organization and setup of operations

• Create and develop new procedures and processes

• Examine existing processes by collecting data for analysis to uncover areas for improvements and innovation

• Analyze, evaluate, and test new and existing processes

• Oversee implementation of new processes and procedures

• Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations

• Contribute to the development of health and safety standards

• Submit change requests to document all processed changes and update standard work sheets

• Assist in training production associates in standard work procedures

• Clearly communicate ideas and findings to management and colleagues

• Assist teams in the implementation of existing and new procedures.

Hard Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing)

• Working knowledge of Lean Tools (Kaizen, 5S, Cell Design, Standard Work, Jidoka)

• Proficiency in Solidworks

• 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment (needs to have experience with Design of Experiments, new process validation, new product testing)

• Plastics processing experience

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Three Rivers, Michigan.

Work Environment

This role is supporting two plants that are side by side in Three Rivers. They will initially be working 40-hour work weeks but will increase to 45 hours once they start full-blown production. They'll be reporting to the Engineering Manager with a dotted line to another manager. This position supports the transportation industry (Semi-trucks) by working with composite lining and panels that are fiber reinforced thermoplastic face sheets thermally bonded with a variety of internal core materials. These engineered composite panels are constructed without secondary adhesives for a stronger bond and more efficient manufacturing process.
