As a Safety Coordinator ,  you will be responsible for e xecuting safety initiatives, reporting, and training at the plant in support of corporate goals and OSHA guidelines. This individual will assist in the execution of identified best practices at the plant related to safety plans, accident prevention and management, training, inspections, reporting, and employee engagement in safety initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure OSHA standards, regulatory requirements, and NVR safety programs/policies are met and followed . Execute systems, policies, and procedures to standardize and enhance safety throughout the plant.

  • Provide new hire and annual safety training to ensure effective training for all employees and a high level of employee engagement.

  • Assist with the execution of new approaches to manage the safety of all employees.

  • Coordinate efforts of accident investigations, root cause analysis, internal & external safety reporting, and training & compliance requirements.

  • Identify and address safety hazards, ensuring sustainable solutions.

  • Conduct plant safety audits and inspect the facilities to identify and correct potential hazards . Prepare reports and interface with outside agencies and consultants.

  • Update the administrative portions of the safety program including audits, trackers, monthly reports, and retained documentation.

  • Member of the plant's Safety Committee, engaging in activities including, but not limited to, scheduling & facilitating safety meetings, assigning inspection areas, coordinating the execution of the safety program, and tracking initiatives, assignments, and repairs.

  • Communicate updates to plant leadership on initiatives, accidents, committee work, and programs as they relate to workplace safety.

  • Collaborate with the Safety Operations Manager and other manufacturing sites to proactively identify best practices and lead assigned improvement projects.

  • Conduct safety-related maintenance checks and routine inspections as required .

    Q UALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Health/Science preferred) .

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a safety role (or relatable field) .

  • Strong working knowledge of general safety protocols and behaviors (OSHA 30 certification preferred) .

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills .

  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities .

  • High energy and ability to multi-task .

  • Assertive and persuasive abilities .

  • Strong problem-solving skills .

  • Reliability and initiative to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional team environment .

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
