Job Title: Mill Operator w/5 Axis Experience

Job Description

The Mill Operator w/5 Axis Experience is responsible for the setup and operation of the 5 Axis CNC machine in accordance with inch and metric drawing specifications. This role involves reading engineered drawings, operating manual mills and lathes, troubleshooting, and performing a complex variety of machining skills. Additional responsibilities include leading projects, acting as a technical resource, evaluating new tooling and machining processes, continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the work area.

Hard Skills

  • CNC Mill operation

  • Setup and operation of manual mills and lathes

  • Reading and interpreting engineered drawings

  • Machining to .005 tolerance

  • Tooling designs

  • Use of inspection tooling for measurement verification

  • CNC machine setup including loading programs and setting tool offsets

  • Reading precision measuring devices in thousandths

  • CNC Programming

  • Ability to read and understand machine codes

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 5 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Tigard, Oregon.

Work Environment

A high school degree or equivalent with 2-3 years’ experience, or an AA degree in Machine Technology is required. The candidate should possess good math skills, particularly in trigonometry, and demonstrate the ability to perform lead responsibilities effectively. The role involves machining various materials including plastics and metals, and requires full-time attendance.
