In this capacity, the selected candidate will oversee highway maintenance operations within a designated area of a County Maintenance Organization. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will assess the necessary maintenance tasks for a specific area by analyzing the condition of the highways, negotiating for the manpower and equipment needed, and identifying the critical requirements for the region. It is essential for the employee to review the performance of subordinate foremen in executing scheduled activities and to implement corrective measures when needed to achieve the set objectives. Additionally, the employee will assess the competencies of the subordinate staff and provide recommendations for necessary training and opportunities aimed at enhancing overall performance.

The position involves developing strategies to ensure the upkeep of the roadway infrastructure and overseeing the county's winter operations. It is crucial to effectively communicate the goals of the Department and the implications of maintenance activities on transportation to the public. The role also includes addressing relevant personnel matters as they arise.

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1; or Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
