The Data Science Analytics & Insights team is actively searching for a highly motivated and visionary post-doctoral researcher, with a primary research focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) reasoning, problem solving, and natural language inferencing. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess a strong background in mathematics and a deep passion for making a meaningful impact through their work. In this role, you will play a crucial part in devising innovative Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms to extract valuable insights from vast structured and unstructured knowledge. Your contributions will involve developing sophisticated large language model (LLM) agents that excel in solving complex problems spanning areas across the pharmaceutical lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with research colleagues to develop, validate, and apply groundbreaking LLM-based methodologies to automate the planning and execution of solutions for scientific research challenges.
Connect agents to multi-modal sources of data at scale - including unstructured text, structured tables, and images.
Serve as a domain expert within the field by articulating to team members emerging approaches and methodologies within the AI domain (e.g. causal inferencing, reinforcement learning, attention models, etc.) with a clear understanding of their practical applications within the industry.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in AI/ML or a related field (ex. computational linguistics, computer science, machine learning, applied mathematics) obtained within the last 2 years or to be completed within the next 3 months is required.
Proficiency in sophisticated AI methodologies (e.g. reinforcement learning, natural language inferencing, recurrent neural networks, attention models, information theory, etc.) is required.
Proficiency in LLM foundation models and agent frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, DSPy) and core programming frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) is required.
Expert proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably Python, is required.
Proven track record in relevant domain backed by publications in credible journals and conferences is required.
Ability to continuously learn and acquire new knowledge and skills within industry setting is required.
Ability to optimally communicate technical work to a wide and diverse audience is required.
Ability to work both independently and in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team is required.
Background in biology or related field and/or experience with biomedical literature or data is preferred.
Strong understanding of statistics and applicable methods to validate developed methodologies is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud solutions (ex. AWS and/or Azure) and graph platforms (ex. Neptune, Neo4J) is preferred.

The anticipated base pay for this position is $89,000 to 125,000. The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
