Position Summary: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing human resource support.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Assists with recruiting talent; maintains online application system, schedules interviews, maintains job files for open and closed positions

  • Assists with researching, developing and administering training programs across various departments

  • Conducts new hire orientation

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions

  • Maintains employee, job requisition, I-9, worker’s compensation, and all other human resources filesCoordinates employee events and recognition programsKeeps track of open workers compensation claims by maintaining files, tracking follow-up appointments and communicating updated workability information

  • Maintains safety documentation for incidents and investigations; keeps management informed of follow-up needed

  • Assists in responding to Unemployment mailings

  • Ensures compliance of all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations

  • Facilitates a positive work environment through existing employee programs as well as assisting in implementation of new programs and ideas to foster a great working environment

  • Devotes the necessary time on the floor to stay connected to business processes and the employees

  • Provide administrative support to General Manager office

  • Other projects or duties as assigned

    Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field and 0-1+ years of related experience OR High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience in an administrative support role

  • Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suites

  • Self-motivated individual with great initiative and ability to work independently

  • Ability to interact with a host of different personalities

  • Highly organized, detail orientated and capable of multi-tasking

  • Ability to take ownership and be accountable for issue resolution and general customer satisfaction

  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Professional in Human Resources certification

  • Foodservice/ Distribution experience
