Colliers Engineering & Design, Inc. Bridge Department Manager in Toledo, Ohio

Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Department Manager to lead our Bridges & Structures team in Ohio! Candidates may be located anywhere in Ohio. Our bridge experts partner with our clients to understand project objectives, while formulating solutions that result in successful outcomes that are safe, efficient, economical and sensitive to the environment. This highly skilled team of professionals offers a full range of bridge services from scoping, planning and preliminary engineering through final design, for small to large scale bridges. Responsibilities Performs duties in support of the direction and vision of the overall discipline for their assigned geographic location. Collaborate with other Department Managers within the region and with the Regional Discipline Leader. Active involvement with marketing and business development. Monitors work backlog and the sharing of work within the region and discipline. Actively involved in the cross selling of all company services. Serve as a resource for project managers and staff on assigned projects and manage completion of projects regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget. Provide staff/managers with technical assistance and supervision in the preparation of proposals and contracts for assigned projects. New business development and management/maintenance of existing clients. Assist in the development of the annual business plan for the discipline. Manage the financial aspects of assigned team(s) and monitor the performance of the business to meet or exceed revenue and/or profit goals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required. 10+ years of experience in bridge engineering is required. 7+ years of experience with preparing proposals, developing budgets, tracking budgets and the associated financial management skills necessary to run a team and monitor the performance of the business. Ohio PE license is required (or through reciprocity). Knowledgeable in best practices, trends, and other influences that affect CED and the environment in which we work, to maintain our position as an industry leader. Possess and demonstrate the ability to lead effectively and efficiently, plan, organize and manage procedures, protocols, and staff to achieve desired results. Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
