We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team in our Toledo, OH office.

This position will manage projects, will serve as primary client manager/point of contact, will help expand our applicable market(s) in northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan, and will lead multidisciplinary technical design teams primarily in industrial design and/or construction quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) projects. Projects may also include those related to municipal clients such as stormwater, water/wastewater, streetscape, roadways and other public infrastructure improvements. You will be responsible for developing proposals, interfacing with clients, regulatory agencies and prospective clients, and mentoring/guiding other professionals. Responsibilities:

  • Proposal preparation, including establishment of project budgets, schedules, and contracts

  • Assist practice leader(s) with project revenue forecasting

  • Lead design teams for municipal and industrial clients/projects

  • Oversee preparation of contract documents including technical specifications and construction drawings

  • Oversee preparation of detailed studies and reports and oversee performance/coordination of all phases of the design process

  • Provide quality control and peer review of work products

  • Help identify, develop and secure project opportunities/clients with a primary focus in Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan

  • Works directly with Area Leaders, Department Leaders, project managers, marketing, and finance to connect Verdantas’ services to significant existing or aspirational clients primarily in Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan and to help meet annual top line net sales growth goal for the Area

  • Works directly with Area Leaders and Operations to set major strategies and tactics for the region, including accountability to achieve these strategies and tactics

  • Manage and develop meaningful dialogue with clients in the Area, and expand those relationships to the rest of Verdantas

  • Mentor and lead staff within the group with the potential to manage/supervise employees, or a group of employees while promoting collaboration and teamwork

  • Attend meetings with clients, stakeholders, engineers, and contractors

  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently but also works well in a team environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and professional written and oral communication

  • Takes accountability for commitments while maintaining quality and meeting budgets and deadlines

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering field and 12+ years of relevant experience including design, analyses, and studies

  • Knowledge of civil plans and relationships among sheet types within a plan set

  • Professional Engineer license preferred

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Successful experience in managing team(s)

  • Proficient with MS Office suite

  • Existing relationships with municipal and/or industrial clients preferred

  • Strong knowledge of local markets, trends and industry standards

  • Knowledge of project funding agencies and requirements preferred
