Perform inspection and testing on products during the shift to verify they meet visual, functional and dimensional requirements based on established standards. Communicate quality issues to production personnel and shift supervisor. Ensure that nonconforming product and materials are identified, placed on hold and isolated to the designated Hold area.

B. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Knowledge, Training, and Work Experience

Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent

1 year experience in a manufacturing environment

Mathematical ability

Communication skills

Writing legibly

Basic computer skills. Knowledge of MS office preferred

C. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible to identify and react to Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP concerns

2. Measurement, observation and inspection of process and product to ensure products meet quality requirements according to specifications. This would include startups, changeovers, line clearances, tooling changes, PM\'s and in-process during the shift.

3. Follow GMP requirements and ensure that GMP type issues do not affect the integrity of the product produced.

4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Able to read and interpret prints for measurements and specifications.

5. Communication with supervisor, shift personnel and management staff.

6. Create and maintain documentation as required by procedures and work instructions, ensuring paperwork is completed correctly and filed.

7. Visually Inspect/audit product to determine that visual defect requirements are met. Understanding of the Visual Quality Standards for all products being manufactured.

8. Understand sample size and frequency for testing. Full Shots, Full Rounds, and subgroups.

9. Perform gage verification checks and identify when gage does not meet requirements.

10. Use gages per PMP\'s to measure product and enter the dimensional data into the computer software. When computer shows that product does not meet specification, check to ensure it is not due to gage or operator error. If it is not gage or operator error, place product on hold per nonconforming material procedure.

11. Perform quality duties per the work instructions during the shift.

12. Operate other quality equipment per work instructions.

13. All other duties as assigned

D. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain clean work area.

3. Help in other job functions as required.

E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to stand for extended periods of time while pulling and testing product

2. Vision corrected to 20/30

3. Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.

F. COMPETENCY SKILLS:

Level 1: 3 months Level 2: 9 months Level 3: 15 months

Select samples for measurement Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and interpret prints Verify Vision, Print, Assembly and Lining inputs and set points. Conduct/validate checks for above.

Measurement and inspection of products to meet quality requirements Communication with Team Leader, team members and management staff Perform gage verification checks

Maintain clean work area Maintain documentation as required by procedures and work instructions Operate other quality equipment

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; common fractions and decimals Examine caps for visual defects Performs dock auditing and return product inspections

Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Rejects nonconforming product and place product on hold Performs as back-up to Quality Technician II

Knowledge of ProTr Q Uses gages per instructions to measure parts and enter data into the computer. Successful Completion of Visual Inspection Exam

Check initial product from machine start-up Demonstrated ability to use ProTraQ for all required transactions Successful Completion of Gaging Exam

No Projects will be assigned at this level as simply completing required work tasks is the focus at QA Tech I.

G. ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment is a high speed manufacturing operation with heavy-duty industrial equipment. The noise level in the work environment is very loud.
