U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command Explosives Operator Supervisor in Tooele Army Depot, Utah

About the Position: Serves as Chief supervisor over two subordinate units, the Conventional Munition Maintenance and the Demil Branch at the Tooele Army Depot. Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of related work operations or functions through one or more layers of supervision and groups or work shifts. Responsibilities Participates in process improvement events and encourages team members to provide technical information and innovative ideas for projects. Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work. Establishes a good working climate to encourage employees to participate in achieving management goals, and to promote efficient and economical work operations. Assigns and explains work requirements to subordinate levels of supervision and sets deadlines and sequence of operations. Assures that subordinate supervisors effectively carry out policies to achieve management objectives in such areas as labor-management relations and equal employment opportunity. Assures that appropriate production reports and administrative records are maintained. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Supervise common ammunition demilitarization and ammunition maintenance operations to include determining manpower and material requirements, planning and scheduling work assignments and evaluating the work products and performance of subordinates. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability to Lead or Supervise Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort: Moderate lifting/carrying between 15-44 pounds may be required. Working Conditions: Required to work both inside and outside, around machinery, and exposed to fumes, smoke, and gases. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a(n) Logistics Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
