Cabela's Lift Mechanic in Tooele, United States
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lift Mechanic performs diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on distribution center equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Schedules and performs routine maintenance.
Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts.
Operates and inspects machines to diagnose defects.
Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
Researches, orders, and maintains parts inventory for service and repairs.
Repairs, rewires, and troubleshoots electrical systems.
Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
Examines and repairs hydraulic system.
Examines and repairs brake systems on all equipment.
Cleans parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent, forklift truck mechanics training course certification or at least 1 year experience in related mechanical field preferred.
In depth mechanical knowledge of material handling products
Proper use of hand and power tools
Good knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service
Good Techniques in repairing equipment
Excellent mechanical knowledge
Excellent knowledge on safety and ergonomics
