Insight Global Database Administrator in Topeka, Kansas

Job Description

Design, implement, and maintain new SQL Server databases. Modify existing databases and database management systems or work directly with programmers and analysts to make these changes. Test database related programs and databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Specify users and user access levels for each database. Design, develop, implement and maintain SSIS packages. Work on data acquisition, data import, data export and data management activities. Manage physical database resources to include: assist in installation and specify initial installation options; perform database software maintenance; review and monitor system and instance resources to insure continuous database operations (i.e. database storage, memory, CPU, network usage, and I/O contention); and upgrade/migrate databases to current release levels. Serve as a back Oracle database administrator. Cross train the Oracle database administrator to learn the SQL Server administration duties and skills. Design, implement, and maintain new Oracle Server databases. Modify existing databases and database management systems or work directly with programmers and analysts to make these changes. Test database related programs and databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Specify users and user access levels for each database. Design, develop, implement and maintain Oracle jobs. Work on data acquisition, data import, data export and data management activities.

Skills and Requirements

-Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.

-Strong understanding of SQL and T-SQL programming.

-Experience with database design.

-Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring and performance tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party tools like Redgate Ability to manage multiple databases and tasks simultaneously.

-Self Starter -C# Experience

-Azure Experience null
