Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking an EHS Intern.

The starting hourly rate for this position is $19.38 - $25.00.

Position Overview:

As an EHS Analyst, you will be part of the EHS Department and provide environmental, health, safety, and security support to a site of approximately 100 employees. This role is responsible for supporting environmental, health, safety, and security efforts at the site. In this role, you will be accountable for supporting EHS activities at his/her location(s), this includes supporting achievement of EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, communication of regulatory requirements, and ensuring documents are organized and readily available. This position is also responsible for supporting MESH assessment program; management of worker’s compensation program; driving incident/injury management, including root causes and corrective actions; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; tracking closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; administration of EHS specific training for the location; supporting actions during crises; site security, supporting the creation of a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Facilitate workstation risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.

• Facilitate engagement of site MESH Team in ownership of the MESH elements.

• Works with the MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation and Enhesa Scorecard of compliance with EHS country, state, and local regulations.

• Manage the site's compliance and action tracking tool, Benchmark.

• Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company EH&S procedures, including fire extinguisher inspections, emergency eyewash/safety shower inspections, and tests and inspections of hazardous materials accumulation areas.

• Assist in developing EH&S training and manage training matrices as needed in Eaton University.

• Maintain recordkeeping and compliance requirements established for permitted sources defined by the local SCAQMD (i.e., paint booth and selective solder)

• Responsible for hazardous and non-hazardous waste management (i.e., department satellite accumulation area, labeling, storing requirements)

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, industrial management, or other related discipline from an accredited institution

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher

• This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Torrance, CA.
