Need 2 full time, temporary, seasonal Livestock Worker / Ranch Hand to work for Verlinde Farms in Tracy, MN. From: 11/02/2024 - 06/01/2025 Work: 48 hrs./week, Mon.-Sat. 8 hrs./day All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary and/or other benefits. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Apply By: 02/16/2025 JOB DESCRIPTION: Care for beef cattle during the Fall, Winter and Spring months. Performs any of the following seasonal tasks to attend to livestock: Operating tractors and cattle feeding equipment along with snow removal equipment when needed. Maintain water tanks to ensure cattle have fresh water. Assisting with calving cows and ensuring calf health. Check cattle for sickness and treat if needed. Check and repair fences. In the Spring, herd livestock to pastures for grazing, scales and or trucks. Mark livestock to identify ownership. Till soil, plant, and cultivate grain. Work requires extensive sitting, exposure to extreme temperatures, and repetitive movements. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum one (1) month experience. No minimum education required. Must be able to lift a 75 pounds. Extensive sitting, walking, exposed to extreme temperatures and repetitive movements is required. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post hire at employer's expense due the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
